Management Paper Tim Cook was born on November 1st, 1960 in Alabama. In 1982 he graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. In the late 80s he went on to get an M.B.A from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. While attending Duke University he was awarded with the title of Fuqua Scholar, which was an honor because it’s only given to those students who graduate in the top 10 percent in the class. After Tim Cook graduated he found a job with the computer manufacturer Internatinal Business Machines Corporation (IBM). In 1994 Tim Cook was working in IBM and became the company’s North American Fulfillment director, he managed manufacturing and distributed functions for IBM’s Personal Computer Company in North and Latin America. Tim Cook worked at IBM for 12 years, after he moved to Intelligent Electronics as a chief operating officer in 1994. He stayed there for three years and later on he got an appointment at Compaq Compu ter Corporation to be the vice president for corporate materials. After a few months of being at Compaq he got an interview for Apple Inc’s with Steve Jobs. While Tim Cook was working at Compaq, Apple was struggling however he was impressed by Steve Jobs vision and decided to join Apple.
